A few weeks ago in a cold but sunny New York winter I was planing to visit the High Line again around Chelsea neighborhood. On the way to the High Line I was attracted by this colorful cow, and was drawn into this craft/design shop.
I aways had a thing from handmade items, especially jewelry. Actually any types of art and creative work. Inside, it’s a pretty open and big space, packed with people. There were some really vibrate art work, and random colors on the wall.
This guy is explaining his process for making these maps. He collected old maps and printed the landscape of the city onto the map. It added another layer to the map itself, and brought different perspectives together. I really like the idea.
The design shop was connected directly to Chelsea market. It was shortly after holiday time, so the hallway was still nicely dressed up. It was sparkling everywhere!
There were a few restaurants inside the market, I noticed these two have beautiful lights. There were also some old photos about the history of this market. The black and white photos looked really nice on the brick wall.
This impressive sculpture were made by kids as part of the holiday decoration. Not bad!
And the highlight of the trip, the lobsters! Served hot with butter dip. It was delicious and perfect way to end the trip. For the lobsters, you need to check it out!
